Ah Sunday Riley , Good Genes what can I possibly add to this conversation that hasn’t been heard , read or seen . Something I hope.
I did not try this until a year ago when one of my friends was selling her bottle as she didn’t enjoy it , so I decided to take the plunge and now I understand why its loved by so many.
As a fan of acid exfoliation for at least a decade I was not convinced it would yield many results , however I’d heard lots about how Lactic Acid is good for a dryer skin type such as mine and also being in my 40’s I need all the help I can get with speeding up that cell turnover. And as I was lucky enough to have purchased a nearly full bottle at half price why the hell not !!!
Product – Good Genes by Sunday Riley
Price – $154 aud for 30ml
Recommended Use – As a serum , one pump applied after cleansing and before moisturising. As a mask , mix with a milky cleanser and leave on for 10-20 minutes.
How I Use – I use as a serum in the evenings. After double cleansing , acid toning and a mist I then apply 2 pumps to face and décolletage . Currently using twice a week but am looking at increasing that. Will do an update if increasing use makes a noticeable difference.
Smell – Kind of sour to me.
Texture – Creamy serum feeling takes a few moments to absorb.
Thoughts – I definitely find this to be an important part of my brightening arsenal . I’ve found this to be the best Lactic Acid based treatment and still get the slightest tingle upon application . My skin when I wake looks bright and glowing and this effect has not subsided at all even after using nearly half a 60ml bottle. This is definitely not a budget option I have tried The Ordinary Lactic Acid in 5% and 10% which didn’t work out for me perhaps as I’m used to stronger acids, Also used Allies of Skin Bright Future Overnight Facial which is also good , will do a review of that soon. I’m just a fan of Good Genes because it works for me and if you were to use it twice a week the 30ml bottle will easily last 4 months.
Repurchase – Yes I’ve already purchased and am nearly halfway through the 60ml bottle.
